ACC Funding

ACC FUNDING FOR HEARING AIDS

Hearing loss from work noise or an injury? ACC may help cover your hearing aids.

If your hearing loss was caused by prolonged workplace noise, a traumatic accident, or a treatment injury, you may be eligible for ACC hearing aid funding. Dilworth Hearing can assess your hearing, check whether you may qualify, and lodge your ACC claim for you.

Our team can guide you from hearing assessment through to ACC claim lodgement.

  • We can lodge your ACC claim on your behalf
  • No surcharge hearing aid options available if ACC claim approved
  • Support for work related, injury related, and treatment injury hearing loss
  • Guidance from local Dilworth Hearing audiologists
  • ACC may also contribute to hearing aid maintenance, repairs and replacement batteries

Can ACC help pay for my hearing aids?

ACC may help with hearing aid funding if your hearing loss is linked to an injury, workplace noise exposure, or a treatment injury.
You may be eligible if your hearing loss was caused by:

  • Long term exposure to loud noise at work
  • A traumatic accident
  • A sudden loud noise injury
  • A treatment injury
  • An existing or potential ACC hearing loss claim

Your Dilworth Hearing audiologist can assess your hearing, review your work history, and explain whether an ACC claim may be appropriate.

We lodge your ACC claim for you

Applying for ACC support can feel confusing, but you do not need to manage it alone.

If your assessment shows you may be eligible, Dilworth Hearing can lodge your ACC claim on your behalf. Your audiologist will explain what information is needed, what happens after the claim is lodged, and what your options are once ACC makes a decision.

Three simple steps to
ACC hearing aid funding

1

Request an appointment

Your audiologist will check your hearing and ask about your work history, injury history, and listening needs.
If your results suggest ACC may apply, we can lodge a claim on your behalf.

2

ACC reviews your claim

ACC will review the information provided and confirm whether your claim is approved.
In some cases, ACC may request further information or ask you to see an ENT specialist before making a decision.

3

Choose your hearing aids

If ACC approves your claim, your audiologist will explain your funding amount and help you choose hearing aids that suit your hearing needs, lifestyle, and budget.
Dilworth Hearing has no surcharge hearing solutions for ACC patients with accepted claims. You may also choose to pay the difference if you prefer a different hearing solution.

    What can ACC help with?

If your claim is approved, ACC may help contribute towards:

    • Hearing aids
    • Hearing aid fitting
    • Audiology appointments linked to your claim
    • Hearing replacement batteries
    • Hearing aid repairs
    • Hearing aid maintenance
    • Replacement hearing aids reviewed at intervals of 6 years

The exact support depends on ACC’s decision and how much of your hearing loss is related to the covered injury.

What if ACC does not approve my claim?

If ACC does not approve your claim, Dilworth Hearing can still help you understand your options.
You may still be eligible for the Government Hearing Aid Subsidy, which can provide up to $1,022.22 towards a pair of hearing aids if you meet the criteria.
Dilworth Hearing can also talk you through other funding and finance options based on your situation.
